LEARN Network Programme (1)

LEARN was a network established in 1999 that provided a unique opportunity for sponsor companies (and their supply chains) to develop and apply radical ideas in a controlled and supportive environment.

Introduction:

The research conducted by the initial network included the design of policy and measurement systems, the development of a more productive supply chain through integration and a better understanding of strategic design of logistics systems for ‘customer service’.

Building from this success, LEARN2 was established to bring together sponsors from a diverse range of manufacturing sectors to ‘learn’ about lean manufacturing, by implementing lean systems within their own facilities and using their own employees (guided by LERC mentors and researchers).
